To keep getting SNAP benefits, you must recertify to confirm you’re still eligible. Usually, you must recertify once a year. You’ll receive a notice in the mail or an alert on ACCESS HRA when it’s time to recertify.

It’s important to recertify as early as possible so you don’t miss a SNAP payment. You can recertify as early as 60 days before the end of your current recertification period.

Recertify for SNAP on ACCESS HRA.

Steps to Recertify

  1. Fill out a recertification form. Answer questions about your household, income, and expenses. The fastest, easiest way is on the ACCESS HRA website.
  2. Complete an interview by phone or in person. No appointment is needed. A SNAP eligibility worker will review your form with you to ensure that it’s ready for processing. They will also help you figure out which documents you need to provide.
  3. Submit required documents. You’ll find out during your interview which ones you need.
  4. Wait for a decision. This can take up to 30 days. You can check status on ACCESS HRA.

  • The fastest way to recertify is online using ACCESS HRA.
  • Recertification forms are available in many languages.
  • A simplified form is available if no one in the household has earned income and all adults have a disability or are age 60 and older.
