All are invited to join a free, public block party along Broadway near City Hall on Thursday, January 1, 2026 for Zohran Mamdani's mayoral inauguration ceremony. 

Tickets are not required. However, you must RSVP online if you want to join the in-person celebration or view the online livestream. Registration for the in-person block party is good for you and your household. There is no need to register each person individually.

It's best to arrive between 11 AM and 12 PM to secure a good spot. The inauguration ceremony begins at 1 PM.

Entrance points are located at:

  • Liberty Street and Church Street
  • Liberty Street and Nassau Street

The following nearby subway stations are recommended:

  • East Side of Broadway
    • Wall Street (2/3)
    • Broad St (J/Z)
    • Fulton (4/5)
  • West Side of Broadway
    • Rector Street (R/1)
    • Wall Street (4/5)
    • Fulton Street (4/5) via Dey Street Passageway

There will be changes to subway service in the City Hall area:

Skipped Stops

  • The R train will skip City Hall in both directions. Subways are on a Sunday schedule; W trains will not operate. The closest ADA accessible station is WTC Cortlandt.

Closed Exits

  • Fulton Street (2/3/4/5/A/C/J/R, PATH) Exit will be closed on Broadway. To travel West across Broadway, use the passageway to Dey Street. This is an ADA accessible station.
  • Park Place (2/3) Exit will be closed on Broadway; use Church Street Exit. The closest ADA accessible station is Chambers Street and West Broadway.

Restrictions

  • Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall (4/5/6/J): This is an ADA accessible station. There is no access to City Hall Plaza or Park from this station. All commuters exiting this station at City Hall Park will be routed east to Centre Street. To travel West across Broadway from this stop, use the Reade Street exit.

All spectators will be screened as they enter the viewing area.

  • Large backpacks or duffle bags
  • Drones or remote-controlled aerial devices
  • Strollers
  • Coolers
  • Chairs
  • Blankets
  • Umbrellas
  • Bicycles or scooters
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Illegal substances
  • Pets (other than service animals)
  • Large items that could obstruct views of spectators around you
  • Laser Pen
  • Bats/Batons
  • Flipper Zero
  • Raspberry Pi
