If the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) seized your property, you must follow DSNY’s property redemption process.
If you’re redeeming your property within two business days of the date of the summons, contact the Administrative Services Unit in person or by phone.
Staff will guide you through the redemption process, answer your questions, and tell you what documents are required to redeem your property.

What Happens Next
After the first two days of storage, fees will be charged at the rate of $16.50 per day. Upon payment of all storage fees, you will be issued a redemption order to redeem your property.
Property that is not claimed and redeemed after 90 days of the date that it was taken, even if storage fees have been paid, will be donated to charity.
