The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has partnered with New York City’s public libraries to offer Neighborhood Tech Help (NTH) for households receiving Section 8.

The program offers free, one-on-one, in-person support for:

  • Resolving a tech problem
  • Connecting with family, friends, teachers, or case workers
  • Navigating online social services
  • Recovering your passwords
  • Finding reliable health information online
  • Accessing affordable devices or low-cost internet service
  • Identifying digital scams

Neighborhood Tech Help's pilot program is available at specific library locations, affordable housing developments, and community centers in Brooklyn.

Additional locations in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens are expected to be added in Spring 2025.
