Toll rates vary by vehicle, time of day, and payment method. The peak period toll rate will apply from 5 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 9 PM on weekends. All other times, drivers will be charged overnight toll rate, which are 75% less than peak period rates.
Vehicles without an E-ZPass pay the Tolls by Mail rate, which is up to 50% more.

Taxis and For-Hire Vehicles
Taxis and for-hire vehicles licensed with the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission are eligible for a smaller, per-trip charge on journeys to, from, within, or through the Congestion Relief Zone, instead of paying the daily toll.
Drivers of these vehicles should sign up for the Per-Trip Charge Plan. Taxi passengers pay the per-trip charge:
- Green and yellow taxis and black cars: $0.75 per trip
- App-based for-hire vehicles: $1.50 per trip

The per-trip charge is separate from the State congestion surcharge for some taxis and for-hire trips beginning, ending, or passing through Manhattan south of 96 Street.
Crossing Credits
Drivers can receive a crossing credit toward the Congestion Relief Zone toll if they are using E-ZPass, enter the zone during the peak period, and enter at the:
- Lincoln Tunnel
- Holland Tunnel
- Queens-Midtown Tunnel
- Hugh L. Carey Tunnel

No crossing credits will be offered during the overnight period when tolls are 75% lower than the peak.
