Gyms and fitness facilities in New York City can reopen if the operator has submitted a Gym and Fitness Facility Inspection Request and Attestation Form to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).

Completing the form means that a facility has met new requirements issued by New York State to address COVID-19 and is ready for inspection.

All fitness facility operators should carefully review and follow NY State Interim Guidance for Gyms and Fitness Centers online and take steps to ensure that they meet all the State's requirements.

Gym and fitness facilities are limited to 33% of the maximum occupancy for a particular area, inclusive of employees and customers. Facilities can increase capacity to 50% on May 15, 2021.
