The 54th New York City Marathon will take place, rain or shine, on Sunday, November 2, starting with the wheelchair division at 8 AM. 

There is a staging area for runners at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island. The marathon begins on the Verrazano Bridge and runs through all five boroughs, ending in Manhattan's Central Park.

The New York City Marathon Family Reunion is located on Central Park West between West 63rd and West 66th Streets, with entry points on Columbus Avenue.

Family Reunion will be open from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Friends and family should arrive at Family Reunion approximately 20-30 minutes after their runner's anticipated finish time, as it can take runners some time after crossing the finish to exit Central Park.

Everyone entering Family Reunion will be subject to baggage inspection and screening. You should not bring large bags, strollers, or other bulky items.

The following items are prohibited from all NYRR events and race venues, including the TCS New York City Marathon and other race-week and race-day events:

  • Alcoholic beverages and illegal substances of any kind
  • Animals/pets (except service animals to aid a person with a disability)
  • Backpacks, suitcases, rolling bags, or any other similar bags other than the official NYRR clear bag check bag
  • Camelbaks® and any type of hydration backpack (Fuel belts and hand-held water bottles are allowed.)
  • Chemical compounds, or biological agents that could be considered toxic
  • Containers of liquid larger than one liter
  • Costumes that cover the face and any bulky outfits that extend beyond the perimeter of the body (Form-fitting outfits are allowed.)
  • Dangerous items or "dual-use" items that could be considered dangerous, including hammers, saws, sharp objects, umbrellas, poles, sticks, etc.
  • Duvets, sleeping bags, and large blankets or comforters
  • Flammable liquids, aerosols, fuels, fireworks, toxic chemicals, and explosives
  • Folding chairs, camp chairs, and tables of any kind
  • Glass containers
  • Large packages, coolers, tents, and lean-tos
  • Opaque trash bags and any non-transparent plastic bags (Clear trash bags are allowed.)
  • Props, including flagpoles, sporting equipment, military and fire gear, and signs larger than 11"x17"
  • Selfie-sticks and any camera mount or rig that isn't attached directly to the head or torso
  • Strollers
  • Unmanned aerial devices, drones, survey balloons, photography mini-copters, and any flying device with an on/off switch
  • Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, Mace, etc.
  • Weight vests and any vests with multiple pockets, especially those that can be used as a water reservoir
