2026 General Election to learn where, when, and how to vote in the November election

Tuesday, November 3 is Election Day. Polls will be open for registered voters on Election Day from 6 AM to 9 PM.

City government offices and City and State courts are closed. It is an optional holiday for State employees.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and Federal offices are open. There will be mail delivery.

Alternate Side Parking (street cleaning) rules are suspended.

All other parking regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.

Public schools will be in session remotely for all students on Tuesday, November 3.

Family Welcome Centers, the P311 (Parent Support Hotline), and all other Department of Education administrative offices will be open.

There is no trash, recycling, or compost collection on Tuesday, November 3.

If Tuesday is your regular trash, recycling, or compost collection day, place your items at the curb Tuesday evening for collection beginning Wednesday, November 4.

Please note that collection delays are common after holidays.

The Staten Island Ferry runs on a normal schedule.

All branches of the City's Public Library systems are open.
