NYC CoolRoofs is a City initiative that supports local job-seekers through paid work experience to cool New York City rooftops with a white, reflective coating that reduces building energy consumption and citywide carbon emissions.

Through the over ten-week long training period, the workforce participants in the program install cool roofs throughout New York City. Participants also earn credentials such as the OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, Fireguard, 4-Hour Flagger, and 4-Hour Scaffolding certifications at no-cost.

Participants also receive career readiness support from the Workforce1 Industrial and Transportation Career Center to further promote their skills development and preparation for long-term careers in the construction sector.

More information, including eligibility, hourly pay and other program details, is available online and by phone.
