You can go to recreation centers throughout New York City for a variety of athletic and cultural programs. A valid picture ID is needed to register for a Recreation Center Membership.

Annual Membership fees are as follows:

  • Free for people under 18
  • Ages 18 through 24: $25
  • Ages 25 through 61: $150 at centers with pools and $100 at centers without pools
  • Ages 62 or older: $25
  • Veterans: $25
  • Person with a disability: $25
  • 6-month membership is also available for ages 25 through 61: $75 at centers with pool and $50 at centers without pool.

NYC Parks Afterschool Program provides children ages 6 to 13 the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities. The program takes place Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM.

        The Arts, Culture and Fun programs include:

        • Dance Away the Night: Learn how to swing, salsa, and tango.
        • Make Your Mark: Try your hand at an artistic pursuit at art workshops.

        All Recreation Centers are closed on the following holidays:

        All Recreation Centers will open at their regularly scheduled hours and close at 5 PM on the "eves" of the following holidays:

        Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex and Flushing Meadows Corona Parks Aquatics Center may operate on different schedules.
