Community Retrofit NYC is a program for owners and operators of small- and mid-size privately owned buildings who want to increase the value and sustainability of their properties with energy and water upgrades, and building staff trainings.
This program offers assistance at no cost to help with energy and water retrofit processes for private buildings that are:
- Multifamily buildings that have between 5 and 50 units and less than 50,000 square feet, AND
- Located within Central Brooklyn Community Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 16, 17, or 18, OR
- Located within Southern Queens Community Districts 9 and 10
The program offers advisory services to complete energy and water upgrades in buildings, which include connections to financing and incentives that are available to help cover costs.
1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-family properties are not eligible for this program. However, Community Retrofit can refer building owners to available resources for 1-4 family homes.
