Need something else?

You can get a wheelchair accessible taxi anywhere in the five boroughs.

To schedule a pickup:

  • Call the Accessible Taxi Hotline and choose the e-hail app a company of your choice.
    • Note, the app companies offer an upfront price and may ask for payment information.
  • Passengers may also hail an accessible taxi on the street and use the meter to determine the price for the fare.
  • Dial 711 for Relay service.

When you book through Accessible Taxi Hotline, the meter starts when you are secured in the vehicle. At the end of the trip, you pay the standard metered fare with cash or a credit card.

You can pick a vehicle type based on your need or preference. There is no passenger limit if they legally fit in the vehicle. There is no additional charge based on the number of people.

Wheelchair accessible taxis have manual ramps that the driver lowers to the ground so a wheelchair can roll into the taxi. Inside the taxi, the wheelchair is secured in place. The firmly fixed securements meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Drivers are trained to help the passenger and properly secure the wheelchair.

You can file a complaint on the Taxi Complaint page if there is an issue with a driver.
