Use CityPay to pay a parking ticket or camera violation.

Note: you can't pay a parking or camera violation online if your vehicle has been booted or towed. To learn how to pay violations when a vehicle has been booted, visit the Booted Vehicle page. For towed vehicles, visit the Towed Vehicle Reclaim from Marshal or Sheriff page.

How to Pay

  1. Go to the CityPay website. Using Firefox isn't recommended because you may not be able to input all of the requested information.
  2. Search for the violations you owe using the ticket or Notice of Liability (NOL) number or your license plate number.
  3. Decide how much you want to pay. The full fine and penalty amounts are displayed, but you can make a partial payment by entering the amount you want to pay. Add the selected items to cart and proceed to checkout.
  4. Choose your payment method by selecting one of the tabs at the top of the payment details page and enter all of the required information. Make sure that your billing address matches the address for your credit or debit card and the Card Verification Value (CVV) is correct, or the payment won't go through.
  5. Review the payment information carefully before submitting. You can't cancel, change, or delay the payment once it's been submitted.
  6. Submit your payment.
  7. Print the receipt screen or confirmation email for your records.

Payment Methods

You can pay online using:

  • Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or foreign cards with CVVs)
  • Debit card (Visa or MasterCard logo)
  • Pre-paid or gift card (Visa or MasterCard logo)
  • Electronic check
  • PayPal
  • Venmo

Service Fee

A 2% service fee is added for credit, debit, pre-paid or gift card, PayPal, and Venmo payments. There's no fee for payments by electronic check.

Proof of Payment

When you pay online and your payment goes through, you'll get a payment receipt screen, and if you provided an email address you'll also get a confirmation email. Make sure to print both for your records as proof of attempted payment.

Each shows:

  • Your receipt number
  • Each ticket and/or violation you paid
  • The total amount you paid

If your credit card, PayPal, or Venmo payment didn't go through, you won't get a receipt. Instead, you'll see a message that says "Unable to process payment. Declined."

The confirmation email will be from noreply@finance.nyc.gov. Keep this email for future reference. If you don't see the email, check your Junk or Spam folder.

If you submit an e-check payment that is later returned as a no-good check, DOF will send a notification of this return to the email address that you provide at the time of payment. The original amount due will be reinstated, as well as any late fees, penalties, or booting-related fees that may have been in place at the time of your original payment. Additional penalties and interest will continue to accrue until a new payment is received.

Processing and Post Date

Online payments are processed each day at midnight. If you search for a ticket or violation you paid earlier the same day, you should see "Payment in Process" on the results page. The payment date will be the date that you completed your online transaction. It may take 2 to 4 business days for it to be reflected in the system.

Payments made online can't be cancelled, changed, or delayed.

Credit and debit card payments over $100,000 and e-check payments over $1 million will be split into smaller amounts for processing and will appear on the statement as multiple items.

You can pay your property taxes online using CityPay.

How to Pay

Go to the CityPay website. Using Firefox isn't recommended because you may not be able to input all of the request information

Search for the property by using either the BBL or the address.

Amount to Pay

Decide how much you want to pay and add the selected items to cart. The full tax and agency charges due for each property are displayed, but you can make a partial payment. Enter the amount that you want to pay in the box provided.

CityPay shows the amount due as of the Friday of the week you are paying. For semi-annual payers, this amount is higher than the bill. If you pay more than you owe, you will receive a credit of the excess amount you paid. You aren’t able to pay more than your total yearly tax amount and any agency charges that are due for each property. If you try to pay more, you’ll get an error message.

Checkout

  1. Once the items have been added to the cart, proceed to checkout.
  2. Choose your payment method by selecting one of the tabs at the top of the payment details page and enter all of the required information.
  3. Make sure that your billing address matches the address for your credit or debit card and the Card Verification Value (CVV) is correct, or the payment won't go through.
  4. Review the payment information carefully before submitting. You can't cancel, change, or delay the payment once it's been submitted.
  5. Submit your payment.

When you pay online and your payment goes through, you'll get a payment receipt screen, and if you provided an email address you'll also get a confirmation email. Make sure to print both for your records as proof of payment.

The payment confirmation page shows:

  • Your confirmation number
  • Each item you paid
  • How much you paid
  • A note that the service fee is non-refundable
  • A note that you have received provisional credit for your payment

The confirmation email will be from noreply@link2gov.com. If you don't see the email, check your Junk or Spam folder.

Processing and Post Date

After you complete your online transaction, you have received provisional credit for your payment. When your bank or credit union confirms the money is available, you will be given full credit for having made your payment on the date you clicked the “Process Payment” button.

Online payments are processed at 6 PM daily but may take 2 or more business days to show up in the system. After the 6 PM processing time, if you search for a bill you paid earlier the same day, an “Invoice Not Found” message will appear.

Once a payment posts, the date when you clicked the “Process Payment” button will be posted as your payment date. Payments will post within 2 or more business days.
