Sponsor a Litter Basket to buy and donate a public litter basket

Individuals or groups may sponsor City litter baskets to prevent trash overflow in high traffic areas. The sponsor must monitor the basket and change the liner when the basket is full.

The Department of Sanitation (DSNY) provides liner bags and a collection schedule.

DSNY delivers basket liners to Adopt-a-Basket participants every 60 days. If you run out of liners before the next delivery, you can request more.

Liners can only be requested by and delivered to the address enrolled in the program.
