Customers are encouraged to establish a My DEP Account on DEP's website, which will enable them to manage their account online and sign up for DEP services such as paperless billing and automatic payments.

Customers with an Automated Meter Reading (AMR) device installed will also be able to monitor their consumption through their My DEP Account.

To dispute a water and wastewater bill, you must first file a written dispute to the Bureau of Customer Services

You may appeal the decision or resolution of a previous written dispute by making an appeal to the Deputy Commissioner within 120 days after the date DEP provides a written response.

If you disagree with the decision rendered by the Deputy Commissioner, you may make a final written appeal to the Executive Director of the New York City Water Board within 60 days of the date of the determination by the Deputy Commissioner.
