Need something else?

If you do not have a driver license, you can apply for a non-driver photo ID card (also known as a New York State ID). Individuals of all ages can apply.

You need to complete form "MV-44" and provide proof of identity and birth date (birth certificate and Social Security Card) to apply.

You must apply for an original non-driver ID in a DMV office. This cannot be done online, by mail, or by phone. If you have a disability and are not able to go in person, email accessibility@dmv.ny.gov to request an accommodation.

You can also get information on how to renew a photo ID or how to report a lost or stolen photo ID.
