Sheltered Bike Parking

You can get information about free, sheltered bike parking at locations in all five boroughs. You are responsible for locking your bicycle to keep it secure while parked.

Parking garages or lots that accommodate 100 or more vehicles must also provide parking for bicycles. Garages must maintain devices to secure bicycles, such as:

Racks
Hooks
Poles
Locks
Chains

Garages must be equipped with enough devices to park at least one bicycle for every ten automobile parking spaces, up to two hundred automobile parking spaces.

The operator of a garage or lot cannot refuse to provide parking for a bicycle unless there is no room at that time.
