Notification of Street or Sidewalk Construction

City agencies performing street or sidewalk construction work must:

Obtain a work permit
Coordinate the work schedule with the local Community Board

The local Community Board must notify residents and businesses about the work performed by city agencies.

Private contractors performing street or sidewalk construction must also have a work permit. However, they do not have to notify owners of nearby properties before beginning work.
