Property owners or managers, including condos, co-ops and homeowner associations, must get a permit to build or run a pool, sauna, hot tub, steam room or spray ground for public or commercial use.
If you want to add one of these facilities to your private property for personal use, you are not required to get a permit.
The fee for a new permit is $1,980 for an establishment with a pool and $1,120 for an establishment without a pool.
The annual renewal fee is $245 for an establishment with a pool and $260 for an establishment without a pool.
The permit expires after 1 year.
