The TLC created the Taxi Improvement Fund (TIF) to support medallion owners and drivers who place wheelchair accessible taxis into service. TIF ensures that all customers have equitable access to taxi transportation services.

To be eligible for TIF payments, medallion owners and agents must have their vehicles converted (hacked-up) to Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs).

More information about TIF, including additional eligibility requirements, is available online.
