Important Update about New Local Law

A new law extends the license expiration dates and renewal application deadlines covered by Emergency Executive Orders 107 and 110. In general, the extension applies to licenses with expiration dates on or after March 12, 2020 when the Mayor first declared a state of emergency.

Visit the Department of Consumer Affairs' website for more information.

A license is required to run games of chance. These games fall into three general categories:

  • Las Vegas Nights
  • Bell Jars
  • Raffles

There are two steps to getting a Games of Chance License:

  1. Get an ID number from the New York State Gaming Commission.
  2. Contact the Department of Consumer Affairs to complete the application process.
